As an extreme suggestion (I hadn't thought that grammar regularisation was
on the cards, up to now), is there any suggestion of considering the
possibility of making Perl less "punctuation-heavy"? I don't know whether
this is a good or bad idea, I'm just interested in how far the intention is
to go...
