That of course gives you a bootstrap > problem, but that has succesfully been solved for other compilers too. added to which, isn't the point of this exercise to remove the perl5 codebase? it seems a "C family" language makes sense. there are many languages that can be used as a meta-language to get to a C compiler target, but none of them seem popular enough to be useable at this point. -- brad clawsie brad@yahoo-inc.com
