Ask, if I recall correctly, was setting up an archive of sorts for RFCs
since he is the 'librarian' :). Also, http://www.mail-archive.com/ is
currently archiving the mailing lists and they may have a mirror but I am
not aware of any. Thanks again to Ask for getting the lists up and running
so quickly and so smoothly.
As far as being part of CPAN...I would say not as CPAN doesn't currently
archive any mailing lists as it is hard to manage, isn't code and would
add size to an ever growing archive. Comprehensive doesn't have to be
everything collected indiscriminately, rather a comprehensive collection
of things pertaining to the prime directive which is source, modules,
scripts, and a few other deemed useful tidbits. One has to be mindful of
the grace of other peoples resources when mirroring.
