I'm working on the document repository now. I'm going to try using
SourceForge for it, with no commitment to using it for code later. I
have written a tool for the librarian to use, which assigns RFC
numbers, inserts into a web site, and mails the announce list.
I've located the Librarian (Ziggy), and while he's still installing
himself in Activestate, he's said he'll be able to handle the RFC
work. I need to get the SourceForge stuff set up first (I'm talking
with Chip about that now, he being the owner of the `perl' project
on SourceForge).
Right now we have the troublesome situation of people posting RFCs and
they're vanishing into the ether. I've been collecting them for when
we get the system going, but until then they're not being visibly
archived for discussion. Once the SourceForge stuff is going (and I
hope this will happen tomorrow) Ziggy can begin installing the RFCs
in it.
The mailing list and archive infrastructure seems to be mostly set up
now. I'm working on the last few lists, and then I think we're done.
July 25 turned out to be optimistic given my road trip. Fortunately
nobody wrote a penalty for late delivery into my job description :-)
