Basically it could be an elaborate web-based collaboration tool written in mod_perl and Apache that uses DBI and MySql or something. The poster children of (post?)-modern-day web-development :) Such a tool will allow the chairs of the various working groups to post progress reports that will be publicly available. It will allow gnat or skud or whoever is the PM to publicly share the project plan. Another cute idea would be that this tool would serve as a nice benchmark/validator against which Perl6 will be continually tested for compatibility/broken-ness through its development. I have been on the look for such a tool for some time now. http://linas.org/linux/pm.html has a good analysis of options. However they all suck. I was going to start on a project to build one that sucks a little less :) Besides its not unusual for large free software development projects to roll-up their own auxilliary projects. For example Mozilla has bugzilla. In some cases the auxilliary projects have been more successful then the original ones, but lets not get into that right now :) If there is any interest in this effort, I can draw up a plan (which in turn will involve gathering immediate requirements from gnat/skud :) and post it here.
